MEET YOUR TRAINER

Hi, I'm Kyle,
the trainer behind
Modern Mutts!

I believe dog training should be about building a stronger relationship between you and your dog—not creating fear, intimidation, or unnecessary stress.

My approach is rooted in positive reinforcement and force-free training methods. I focus on helping dogs learn through clear communication, consistency, and rewarding the behaviors we want to see more often.

My journey into dog training.

My professional journey in dog training began with a passion for understanding how dogs think, learn, and interact with the world around them. I went on to study at CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, graduating in January 2025, and gained hands-on experience working with dogs of different breeds, personalities, and behavioral needs.

Throughout my career, I've worked with dogs and their owners on everything from foundational obedience and leash manners to confidence building and everyday behavioral challenges. One of the most important things I've learned is that every dog is different. What works for one dog may not work for another, which is why I believe training should always be tailored to the individual dog and family.

Patience. Consistency. Connection.

As a U.S. Navy veteran, I value patience, consistency, and clear communication. Those principles carry over into my work with dogs, but I also believe training should be enjoyable. Dogs learn best when they feel safe, motivated, and understood.

Why I created Modern Mutts.

I created Modern Mutts to bring practical, compassionate dog training directly into people's homes. Instead of relying on one-size-fits-all programs, I work with you and your dog in the environment where everyday life happens.

My goal isn't just to teach your dog a few commands. It's to help you understand your dog, develop useful skills, and build a relationship that continues growing long after our sessions end.

Good dogs. Real life. Kind training.

Who we are

You might talk about your origin story, your team, highlight awards or recognitions, or share photos. Tap into your creativity. You’ve got this. The way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
